The landscape

The Burgundy is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and varied regions in France. The space and tranquillity of this area are thrilling. The absolute highlight can be found in the regional natural park “Le Morvan”, a protected landscape of more than 1700 m². The old Burgundy traditions are honoured here.

Wine

Château Pommard or Château Meursault are world famous vineyards. Château de Vareilles is only about 50 kilometres from this famous wine area and thanks to our contacts with well-known wine growers, you can enjoy tastings of the wonderful Burgundy wines. Culture and Art

Château de Vareilles is an excellent base for a visit to a number of historical and cultural places of interest. The beautiful fortress town of Autun is close-by (about 12 km), with its medieval abbey and other monuments of Celtic and Roman origin. Autun has a lively town centre with many shops and pleasant terraces.

Other recommendable day trips bring you to historical towns like Beaune, Vézelay and Dijon, to the excavations of the Celtic town Bribacte, to the Roman abbeys in Toumus and Cluny, to the water recreation site Lac des Settons or to the numerous markets, antique shops and “brocantes” in this wonderful region.
